The City of Federal Way Utility Tax Rebate Program offers rebates on certain utility taxes paid toward the following services: 

  • Water and sewer provided by Lakehaven Water and Sewer District
  • Solid waste removal provided by Waste Management
  • Gas and electric provided by Puget Sound Energy, 
  • Telephone, cellphone, or cable

Eligibility requirement header

 

 

  • Resident of the City of Federal Way 
  • Combined Annual Gross Household income is under 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI)
  • Household utilities were under your name

Application Instructions header

Applications for the 2023 Utility Tax Rebate Program are accepted January 1 - May 30, 2024. 

To apply, submit the following information: 

  • 2023 Utility Tax Rebate application 
  • ONE copy of each utility bills (water, sewer, garbage, gas, electric, and telephone, cable or cellphone) paid in 2023. Each bill must show your name and home address. 
  • 2023 Tax Return Form 1040 
                                      OR
  • Two months of 2023 bank statements
