To speak in person, complete a sign-up sheet provided at the meeting room entrance or sign up online.

 

To speak remotely, complete an online form. The sign up deadline is 5:00 p.m. on the meeting date.

 

Submit written comments to be included in the record. View written comments (browse to the meeting date).

 

Public comment is encouraged at all regular City Council and Council Committee meetings.

All public comments must comply with the City Council Rules of Procedure (see below).

Community members may contact the City Council at any time at Council@FederalWayWA.gov.

City Council Rules for Public Comment

In accordance with state law, the City of Federal Way prohibits any testimony regarding any campaign for election or promotion of, or opposition to, any ballot proposition during the public comment. City Council Rules of Procedure prohibit any personal, impertinent, threatening, or slanderous remarks during public comment.

The Mayor or Committee Chair may interrupt comments that continue too long or violate the rules of conduct. No speaker may offer or donate their speaking time to another speaker. The Mayor has the authority to preserve order at all Council meetings and to remove any person from the meeting for disorderly conduct.
