The following is Federal Way’s current and anticipated major street construction (6-5-25) 

(Note: minor road and/or short term street impacts are not reflected here).

CURRENT WORK:

SW 320^th / 10^th Place SW: NIGHT WORK evenings of June 8 – June 10, 2025. PSE will have a contractor replacing sidewalks. Temporary lane closures required.

288^th Road Diet (Ph. 2) – Pacific Hwy to Military Road (Project Information): Starting May 2025, the city’s contractor, ACI will be completing the road diet on S 288^th Street between Pacific Hwy and Military Road. Project includes sidewalk replacement, signal replacement, paving, and striping. Temporary daytime lane closures required.

S 320^th / 21^st Ave S Pedestrian Signal: S 320^th at 21^st Ave S will have intermittent daily lane closures for completing the project.

Citywide Pedestrian Safety Project (Project Information) Various locations (shown and listed below): Intermittent daily lane closures for completing the project.

Dash Point Road at 16^th Ave SW; S 312^th at 18^th Ave S; S 320^th west of Pacific Hwy; SW 320^th at 45^th PL SW; 9^th Ave S at St. Francis Hospital; SW 356^th Street at 23^rd Ave SW; and SW 356^th at 18^th Ave SW.

2025 Overlay Program (Project Information): Starting in April 2025 and continuing through the summer, the city’s contractor, ICON Materials, will be completing pavement overlays in several locations throughout the city. Click on the project information link for maps of the overlay areas.

Sound Transit – Federal Way Link Extension (FWLE)

S 320^th – 21^st Ave S to 23^rd Ave S: Night Work – June 11-12; June 15-18; June 25-26; July 14-17 (8 pm – 6 am)

Sound Transit’s contractor will be completing roadway work on Westbound S 320^th between 21^st Ave S and 23^rd Ave S. Work includes grind and overlay; striping; and utility casting adjustments. Westbound lanes will be closed. Detours, or shifted traffic will be in place.

Roadway Paving – Haul Route Restorations:

Sound Transits contractor will be completing roadway overlays to restore haul routes utilized for construction of their project over the next several weeks. Day time temporary lane closures with alternating traffic will be in place. Locations include:

Military Road South – between S 304^th Street and Star Lake Road.

28^th Ave S – between S 317^th and S 304^th Streets.
