Federal Way Community Center Activated as Cooling Center Ahead of Expected High Temperatures July 21 & 22
The National Weather Service is predicting high temperatures for Western Washington July 21 and 22. Mayor Jim Ferrell is proactively preparing for the dangers of the forecast, which calls for temperatures at or above 90 degrees on July 21 and 22.
Crime Rates Continue to Decline Citywide in Federal Way — Down 21% in 2026
The City of Federal Way announced today that preliminary crime data for the first six months of 2026 shows overall crime has decreased by 21% compared to the same period in 2025, continuing a strong multi-year trend of improving public safety throughout the city.
