Personal Biography:
Melissa was the first person in her family to earn a university degree, graduating with honors from Saint Martin's University after completing internships with the Thurston County Prosecutor's Office and the Washington State Attorney General's Office, Torts Division. With a professional background in public safety, Melissa is committed to the principle that government works best when it serves the people, not the other way around. She was elected in 2025 following her strong advocacy to reverse state legislation that had weakened public safety. Melissa and her husband are downtown residents and the proud parents of two adult children. She enjoys volunteering, attending community events, exploring the Pacific Northwest, and reading.
