Helping our Community Through Volunteerism

The Federal Way Police Department Volunteer Program gives community members an opportunity to assist FWPD while gaining a better understanding of policing and the needs of our community.

Volunteers provide valuable support that helps save public resources while giving residents an inside look at how the department operates and the work being done to keep our community safe.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must successfully complete a background check
  • All skills, interests, and experience are welcome. 
     

Training & Supervision


Employees of the Federal Way Police Department will teach any and all classes needed for any type of volunteering. The coordinator of the program is Sarah Butts . The position requires a successful background check and polygraph to be selected.
